A Picturesque 2-Story Villa, transformed to suit modern day living.

The brief was simple – refurbish the original dwelling, maintain its sense of character and address the aggressively steep staircase. As the house was somewhat disconnected from the rear and north facing aspect of the site, a conscious decision was made to reprogramme the entire ground floor and make the staircase the centre piece of the living area and fit within the existing building fabric.

Through careful detailing and consideration to materiality, detailing and scale of elements the house now provides flexibility to suit modern-day living without losing any of its original charm.
